Richard Carr III was born in Kettering, Ohio to Kim and Richard Carr II. When he was 3 his family moved to Orlando, Florida where he grew up. From an early age, he loved being in front of the camera. He was in a baby and toddler calendar at the age of 3. Two years later he modeled for a Newspaper ad for Florida Hospital (now Advent Health). Growing up he continued to dabble in school plays, local church plays, and acting clubs. He attended HBCU Oakwood University in Huntsville, AL, and graduated with his BS in nursing.
